Luca Shaw (artist-curator) - b. 1995, Stockport

Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, Luca’s practice explores an intimate nostalgia for a time never lived, in an attempt to find meaning and connection to life in the present. Her work, rooted in drawing, extends into painting, printmaking and theatrical elements, embracing experimentation and transformation. With aesthetic nods to bygone structures and items, she investigates themes of home and safety, weaving in her personal experiences with anxiety and challenges with shifting environments.
Curation is key to Luca's artistic practice. For her, physical spaces, presentation, and the interplay of narratives between artworks create transformative, transportive environments akin to theatre.
Alongside her developing practice, Luca has directed artist-led spaces, co-created performance projects, and worked as a creative producer on a variety of diverse projects.
